A little background information to set the scene...I was born and raised in Southbury, Connecticut. At age 9, I begged my mom to take me to an audition for a local production of "Gypsy." To my great delight, I was cast and I haven't wanted to leave the stage since! While growing up in Connecticut, I performed in many community and regional theater productions, and danced competitively. After winning numerous regional and national dance competition titles, I decided to stop competing at age 16, and began training at FineLine Theatre Arts in New Milford, CT, where I was taught by Scott Wise, Elizabeth Parkinson, and Arlene Begelman. I also continued with musical theater, and in the 7th grade, I had the honor of singing and dancing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on a float alongside Joey Lawrence and Brittany Snow.
After high school, I moved to New York City to study drama at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. After training in straight acting at the Atlantic Acting School's NYU program for 2 years, I moved on to study musical theatre at CAP21.
At NYU, I fell in love with NYC and I can't imagine ever wanting to live anywhere else. Now when I'm not on stage or taking dance at Broadway Dance Center, I can be found reading anything I can get my hands on, trying out all the new restaurants and bars that keep opening in Astoria, taking too many pictures of my adorable dog, or training for my next big race, which right now is the Marine Corps Marathon--my first 26.2!
